PRESS STATEMENT KANO EXTENDS LOCKDOWN BY A WEEK Kano state government has announced the extension of the lockdown imposed by one week to help further combat the spread of the novel COVID-19 pandemic. The state commissioner for information, Malam Muhammad Garba, who made the announcement said the decision was reached after due consultations with the federal government and key stakeholders in the health sector. He said the measure is aimed at further reducing indiscriminate person to person contacts which is considered as one of the major ways the disease is being spread. The statement, while acknowledging the consequences of the measure on the public, called for patience and support as the battle against the pandemic continues. It also called on the people to continue to observe strict personal hygiene through regular hand washing, use of face masks and social distancing. Malam Muhammad Garba Hon. This is to inform the general public that the  University of Nigeria Post-UTME  screening test will commence on  Monday, July 23rd, 2018  and end on  Wednesday 1st, August 2018 .  Registration exercise for the Post-UTME screening exercise will start on  5 th  July 2018  and end on  19th  July 2018  on the University Portal Prospective students who made UNN their first choice and scored  180 and above  should apply on the Portal as from  5th July . Prospective   V isually impaired students  who made UNN their first choice and scored  120  and above should also apply  on the Portal as from  5th July .  Direct Entry Screening is scheduled on the  1st, August 2018 . Mop-up for Post-UTME is scheduled to take place on 1 st  August 2018. Please endeavor to arrive at the venue 2 hours before your screening for accreditation.
